Absorption of liquids

Gel to confine and secure the elimination of fluids

Gelling of certain potentially at-risk liquids (biological fluids, contaminated or not, containing chemical or cytotoxic substances) constitute a pertinent prerequisite before disposal of these substances.

FACILITATES CLEANING

In fact, it is easier to clean a gelled fluid than a fluid in its liquid state.

SECURES ELIMINATION

The spill of some liquids can cause splashing, thereby contaminating the environment (e.g. when draining urine collection without a bedpan washer; case of containers with cytotoxic effluents).

REDUCES COSTS

Since disposal of liquid biomedical waste can be expensive, gelling of liquid waste seems to be a more economical alternative.
